Newborn Session Prep

Our session will last about 3 hours, so please feel relaxed and comfortable knowing we are not in a hurry. Babies run on their own schedule. This provides plenty of time to feed your baby when needed, break for a snack and allow baby to fall asleep. I provide a sound machine and space heater to help keep baby comfortable.
My goal is to capture a variety of poses, but the baby’s comfort level will determine which poses we get. I would also like to get several poses of you with your baby. These are often my favorite moments, as they capture that precious, wonder-filled (though sleep deprived) joy you feel during those first days of your baby’s life.
WHAT TO WEAR
For baby: Choose one outfit (two max) to dress baby in. The majority of our poses will showcase your newborn's beautiful skin (either nude or down to a diaper).
I have a limited selection of headbands, hats, blankets and baskets.
Please let me know if you have a particular color or theme in mind for photos. You will need to provide any theme specific props you'd like to include in your session. We'll talk through these details during our pre-session phone consultation.
For yourself: Choose comfortable, neutral pieces. Jeans and a solid color top is always a winner. Please avoid bold patterns, large logos or wording. When considering family poses, choose complementary colors and textures so you don’t blend together. I favor seeing the baby against your skin, so short sleeves or tank tops work well for newborn photos.
Remember:
*Accidents do and will happen, so please choose a back up change of clothes for yourself.
*Mom, a little mascara, lip gloss and blush will go a long way. Take a few extra minutes for yourself when getting ready.
*Don't forget to give a little TLC to your hands, fingernails and toenails so those sweet close ups aren't snagged by a hangnail ;-)
